pfSense Plus 25.11 has removed support for the Qlogic NetXtreme II BMC57840
-
In versions prior to 25.07.1, the BCM57840 worked correctly, but after upgrading to version 25.11, it could no longer be driven. I'm wondering if this is related to the change "ADD: Support 2.5G SGMII (SFP GPON ONT) in driver (QLogic NetXtreme II BCM57810)".
My device is a Netgate 1541, and the BCM57840 is an added network card.It works correctly in version 25.07.1:

Hmm, not deliberately. I don't have one of those to test but I know we added it specifically to get that patch for gpon modules.
Digging....

Yup we see the issue. Please open a TAC ticket. We are putting together a workaround.

I hope the Qlogic NetXtreme II BMC57840 driver will be restored in the next version. Until then, I will remain on version 25.07.1.
