After update to 25.11 my internet throughput for my Gb fiber dropped 200mb or more.

I did not change any configurations.
I do not have Traffic shaping or Packet Flow Data configured.

All machines on network dropped in speed. No machine is currently using any VPN services on firewall.

      Packages installed:
      acme
      aws-wizard
      Cron
      freeradius3
      ipsec-profile-wizard
      openvpn-client-export
      Tailscale
      Wiregaurd

Only since the upgrade performance dropped. If I connect a pc directly to fiber gateway great speed.

Can I downgrade to previous version?

@jbomberger in direct answer to your question, you’d need to (re)install the older version. The 3100 doesn’t have ZFS IIRC.

What does CPU usage look like while downloading?

Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, CPU, and/or disk speed.

Speedtest will take CPU to 70-90%

@jbomberger That sounds high for a 3100 at 200 Mbps. Do you have PPPoE maybe? That changed in 25.07... what version did you have before?

What actual speeds are you seeing? What were you seeing in 25.07.1?

The 3100 is EoL so development time for it is extremely limited unfortunately. There was a point during 25.11 development when it looked like it wouldn't be supported. At some point it won't be. It's the only arm32 device we have.

But I haven't seen anything substantial change there. I'd expect similar performance. 🤔

Before the update I was getting 945Mb speedtest download and the same for upload.

After update download speedtest averages 750 with 945 upload speed

I'm planning on downgrading to 25.07, just haven't attempted it yet. I'm assuming that was the version I had before. I generally always update when updates are available.

                  And not using PPPoE?

I'm not aware of setting anything for PPPoE.

I downgraded to 20.07 and internet Speedtest speeds back to normal.

The CPU speed does goes up to 90% during a speedtest. Honestly never looked at cpu before during a speedtest.

Is there an easy way to disable flashing orange LED?
I don't want to do the upgrade now.

You can disable the dashboard update check in Sys > Update > Settings. Then run: pfSense-led.sh update 0 to reset the LED.
