I have a wifi 7 Access Point device(WBE750) that I would like to directly connect to a X550-t2 that is configured as VLAN 4. Is this possible or do I have to use a managed switch?
When I display the x550 I see that it is running in 10gb full duplex mode but I get no connection to the Access Point(The light just flashes red).

      Any assistance would be appreciated
      Thaks

Assuming you have a custom-built box, your AP will need to be plugged into a managed switch.

@Hoser7632 I’m not sure I’ve heard of connecting two NUCs NICs and trying to use a VLAN. What is the point of that if there is nothing else sharing the wire?

Technically an unmanaged switch will work too. Generally gigabit and later will pass VLAN tags. You can’t enforce the VLAN but if there’s only one device connected…

Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, CPU, and/or disk speed.

Does that AP support VLANs and multiple SSIDs? If so, you don't absolutely need a managed switch. However, you will then be making the VLAN available to your entire network. Depending on your situation, that may or may not be advisable.

@Hoser7632 no connection like link would have nothing to do with what networks you might pass over this wire.

Not exactly sure what you mean when light just flashes red, on your AP, on the interface?

I take it your powering this via ac adapter since I doubt your x550-t2 interface is going to provide poe.

Why would you tag traffic over this interface to your AP, unless you were going to carry more than 1 network on the wire?

Seems kind of pointless to me to tag this traffic if only 1 device is going to be connected to this port.
