      Can I get the direct link for PFsense community edition? It is generally a bad idea to update the router without having an installer ready.

        @Ryu945 https://shop.netgate.com/products/netgate-installer
        or for 2.7 https://atxfiles.netgate.com/mirror/downloads/.

        Only install packages for your version, or risk breaking it. Select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings.
        When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, CPU, and/or disk speed.

            Always a good idea but the Installer can also pull it from the existing disk, assuming the upgrade didn't fail that badly.

            I just reinstalled one to change to ZFS and it took just a few minutes plus a force update of pfBlocker.
