      Greetings all,

I just updated to 25.11, well I was trying to update. I started the update then walked away. When I came back the next day, I was greeted by the GUI login screen. Now I can't log in. If I use the admin password that was working, nothing happens. The fields are cleared, no error is displayed, the page just refreshes and presents the blank log in fields again. If I use a purposely incorrect ID/Password, it does display an incorrect error.

I've also tried to connect to the USB console, but nothing is displayed by PuTTY.

      Any suggestions? Thanks, Tim

@timbaeten Try the IP or a FQDN, private window, or different browser?

Sounds like https://forum.netgate.com/topic/189491/can-t-login-to-gui/29. For me one of two of our internal routers are affected. (others don't have a "short name")

To upgrade, select your branch in System/Update/Update Settings. When upgrading, allow 10-15 minutes to reboot, or more depending on packages, CPU, and/or disk speed.
Only install packages for your version of pfSense.

I got the console working and it turns out this is, most likely, because of NO space on /

Using the console to manually delete some logs and packages allowed me to get the GUI to respond.

However, even after clearing old logs, I'm still right up against the space on /.

Any suggestions? I've looked through this form and reddit and have done what I can from those suggestions.

          Thanks again, Tim

@timbaeten on Plus it’s almost always old Boot Environments:
