Wireguard between FritzBox and iPhone only works with Apple Store WiFi

Hello,
I have a Fritz!Box 7690 and I´m using wireguard for vpn. In Germany, where I live, it works without any problem. But now I´m abroad and connection fails always - with one exception! As soon as I use WiFi in an Apple Store it works fine! No other WiFi in well known strores like HRCafe or using mobile network with my standard SIM or eSiM for worldwide connections. I`ve asked in Apple Stores New York, Singapur and Tokyo - nobody could help. Any Idea?

@WolfgangDomi where is pfSense in all of this? What version of pfSense are you using? Does Wireguard run on the pfSense and on what port?

Have you tried to use it with an Wifi abroad that you control? Where the router has a (commercial or otherwise) VPN connection to Germany (or one of the neigbouring contries) and you connect your phone to that Wifi and then enable your Wireguard VPN on the phone?

The next time you visit a Store, do a 'trace'. I'm pretty sure you won't find any local 'hops', and go straight to a Apple head quarters in the western part of world. From there, a connection to Germany works fine.
Because : and these are my thoughts : every Store uses a VPN directly to 'headquarters'. Apple negotiated of course will local authorities that this VPN is allowed, works fine, and has no issues.
So, no wonder it works fine in these stores. Or all places are ... usable with 'restrictions' ?
Again : I'm not working for Apple. Don't know nothing about how things are done in that part of the world.
