      Hello everyone,
      I recently received a pfSense XG-1540 for free for my homelab. However, after I racked it, I go to turn it on and it fails to post. The symptoms are when I attempt to boot it up, the system will briefly spin up for half a second before I hear a click and everything shuts down.
      Here is a Google Drive link to the video that shows what this happens. I also attached two pictures showing the lights of what happens.

      Given that this device has reached EOL, I suspect it may not be worth saving. I am just curious if there are any tricks or ideas anyone has had that could potentially extend the lifespan of this device? I was really excited to learn more about pfSense with my homelab.

      Thanks for taking the time to read! I hope you all have a blessed day!

      When the device first POSTs, this red light flashes

      As soon as the red light flashes, the device clicks off. This light stays green, and eventually starts to blink slowly. No other activity occurs.

        So no output on either console?

        The fans remain off?

        Generally with a failure to POST like that I would start removing hardware and retesting. So remove the expansion NIC. Remove all but one stick of RAM. Try a different RAM stick.

          @stephenw10 Hi Stephen,

          Thank you for your troubleshooting steps.

          Correct, there is no output on either console and the fans remain off.

          I have tried removing hardware including the RAM, expansion cards, and even replacing the CMOS battery. The behavior remains the same.

          The red light will blink on the logic board near the label LED8
          The green light remains solid for about 1 minute, before blinking. This light is located near the RM226 label on the logic board.

          Do you have any other suggestions?

            Well you will need at least some RAM. It's unlikely all RAM sticks would fail though.

            Otherwise you might try a different PSU. Beyond that I'm not sure what else you could do. The Supermicro board manual might have some info on the diagnostic LEDs.
