I thought that this was fixed in this version, but it seems to stem from the requirement that the API host at AWS be resolvable to an IPV6 address in order to update the DNS with a AAAA record. However, this host only resolves to an IPV4 address.

Specific Error when attempting to update AAAA ddns record.
/services_dyndns_edit.php: Curl error occurred: Could not resolve host: route53.amazonaws.com

Seems that if we can find the host at all, we should be able to put either AAAA or A record in the update.

Correct me if I am wrong, please.

Further clarification. DDNS is working fine for the IPV4 version of route53.
