Recently upgraded to pfsense 26.03 on a 4200 device. Noticed bell icon notice check_upgrade: “Updating repositories metadata” returned error code 1. Also noticed a pc with no internet connection. And System / Register page in pfsense does not show registration information. This occurs even in device with internet access.

Also trying to access Diagnostics / NDP Table displays a 50x Error page.

A 4200 should not need to be registered. It should show:

Your device does not require registration, we recognize it already. You may have already registered, or it may be a pre-registered Netgate appliance.

        Are you not seeing that?

Try checking at the command line: pkg-static -d update
What errors are shown, if any?

Rebooted the device. The bell icon notice disappeared. The 4200 appears to be running normally. Before then:

          -pfsense ran slowly
-limited internet access in pfsense to check registration status
          -dns lookup to pkg.pfsense.org failed
          -configured interfaces were online
-crash report on ndp table page showed no useful details, apart from pfsense version

I noticed loss of internet connectivity on one pc. Everything else appeared to be connecting. Also noticed a lot of dns requests in the pfsense logs related to the pc after the reboot.

Hmm, anything in the system log at that time? It sounds like some service wasn't runnung. Local DNS (Unbound) perhaps.

I suspect dns stoped working. The pc displayed an error stating dns server could not make any request. First time I’ve seen such error. I still don’t know the how the 4200 became unstable.
