ZFS Mirror replacing failed Drive

Good evening,
Need some assistance on this situation, so I have two drives in a mirror on fw01 however one drive out of the two ada0 and ada1, ada0 has failed. Now am i right in thinking that if i use zfs replace zroot command to replace ada0 with a new SSD I have to manually install the bootloader? Or is there a better way to replace ada0. issue I have is i can't really reinstall as I can have downtime for a longer period of time.

I employed this method with success some time ago at the suggestion of Steve Wheeler.

@tedquade Yep that is what I came up with, tested it in a Virtual machine. seems to work fine, looks like i am correct about the bootloader. Safer to backup.xml file too.

Always backup the config file!

@stephenw10 Absolutely that was the first thing I did and I'm very glad I did to that or I would be in a right mess.
