Autodetection not working for Intel NIC's 82576 & X550 in 2.8

Hello Everyone:
I was putting together a test environment PFSense box using some older Intel Cards and the latest community edition and I noticed that the "Auto Detection" is broken for some of the Intel cards but not the embeded RealTek NIC.
I re-installed PFSENSE 2.8 to make sure it wasn't a botched installed of sorts, and I tried another Intel Card and noticed the same thing. Link is up as indicated by the lights on the card and the fact that the card will get an IP-Address but PfSense will not auto-identify the connection.
The first card is an Intel 82576 chipset and the second is an X550-T2 ... I remember these very cards auto identifying during setup in earlier versions of PFSENSE but can't recall the version number. I want to say 2.5 or 2.6 maybe.
Oddly enough in this same system it will auto identify the embeded Realtek chipset so I'm thinking it is something to do with the FreeBSD driver maybe for the Intel NICS
I just wanted to mention it in case someone thinks they have a bad NIC or something.

@LunchBoxSteve what are they connected to, a switch (type, model?)? And to what speed are the supposed to auto-neg?

What is your definition of 'Autodetect'? Do you refer to to speed auto negotiation? Or detection of the SFP+ transceiver model? Or something else?

If you get an iP address then auto-neg did work.

What does 'auto-identify' mean for your? Can you show the output of `ifconfig -vv <the port you think did not auto identify>'
These are two very popular cards and I'd be surprised if they have a generic auto-gen issue. I think we would have read of that in this forum.

Yeah those should work fine. Some NICs do need to be assigned manually initially though.
