PPPoE Interface and Gateway status "Unknown"

Learning networking by creating an internal network with fake ISPs using pfsense and vyos router. Followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6PATodd659I&list=PLIknDqvRXOYbUa2JJIVPNY69O_x6prcPG&index=8 to the letter, but the PPPoE interface will not come up at all. What diagnostic information should I post here to get help?
...OR...
can anyone recommend a tutorial I can follow that does not have this issue?

@mrpacman It happened to me before; it was a problem with the PPPoE username and password.

@Edson-Victor-da-cruz thank you, but I already went back and double-checked the username and password, re-commited and re-saved...maybe there's a trick I am missing?

confirming what @Edson-Victor-da-cruz highlighted after running "show log | grep -i pppoe"...shows "authentication error"...so where or how do i correct that?
