      Anyone can help with this?

Edit: Apparantly it doesn't like Quad 9 and Cloudflare DNS servers because it worked with the Google server, even though this was fine for several months with those DNS servers. Anyone know how I can get just the updates to use the Google servers, while everything else avoids it and uses the Quad 9 and Cloudflare ones?

        Go to System/General Settings.

Enter the DNS you desire there. At "DNS Resolution Behavior" choose to ignore the local DNS..

        That should work.

Can you show a screenshot of the general settings page the way you have it set? I checked for updates about 20 minutes ago and was fine with both Google and Cloudflare in my list..

You can also look at the System Information widget on your dashboard to see what your pfSense is using for DNS..

@chpalmer I changed it to ignore local and set the google dns to none for gateway. The widget shows all my DNS servers I have set up in General Settings. So far, there is no issue any longer. Thanks.

You could also have added a domain override for netgate.com pointing to 8.8.8.8 or whatever server resolves correctly.

@stephenw10 Thanks, so just set domain netgate.com to DNS server IP 8.8.8.8? DNS Resolver - > Domain Override
