AI forum spam?

I got an email regarding a subscribed topic (2021) and based on the necro reply it looks like forum spam and apparently has already been dealt with since the link to the message is a 'not found' already despite the inbound I got being litterally just minutes ago..
..and uh, happy new year x5 ! ;-)

@Smokey-de-Bone with all the things AI could do, what do people leverage it for - writing spam.. <rolleyes>
It's going to put all those 3rd world workers getting fractions of a penny per spam message out of business I guess ;)
I don't see any recently deleted posts.. Could you send me the link you got to the post.. Possible a Admin /Mod purged it, or the bot deleted it - who was the user that posted it?

Some forum members have the 'mark as spam / kill this' button. -
So we got AI writing spam, when we going to get AI filtering and preventing/deleting it ;)

edit: put the info you seek in the chat. Seemed to be the == of PM sort of operation best I could tell.

@Smokey-de-Bone yeah that was perfect - I responded in the chat with some details.
But for the thread - post was reported 522 am, and then StephenW10 one of the admins here, and great all around guy and helper of all in need ;) banned him and purged the post it seems at 535 am.. I assume those times are my time (central)

@johnpoz I didn't notice, but my email from the forum was created on Monday, June 15, 2026, 5:56:44 AM (Mon, 15 Jun 2026 09:56:44 +0000)
..I only stumbled on it today (UTC-05:00) doing some mail reorgainzing so it did seem from my vantage point to have been snagged in a much tighter time window.

Yeah I probably nuked all their posts if it was obviously spam. As admin/mod I can still see deleted posts otherwise and it's more than I can take!
