Hurricane Electric Tunnel Broker and Squid

Finally got this working over IPv6 after years of off-and-on troubleshooting! The culprit was a mix of NDP issues and WPAD domain overrides. Fixing it required setting the proxy as a domain override and pointing WPAD to the hostname instead of the IP. It took way too long to figure out, but it's finally alive. It’s a lot of advanced config. I earned that HE Sage certification!! That is the final puzzle piece I needed. Just amazing pure ipv6 over the proxy by way of Hurricane Electric Tunnel Broker for my IPV6. For easy compartmentalization, I even configured my static IPv6 addresses to match my IPv4 scheme. Shout out to everyone who helped me troubleshoot over the years. And a quick takeaway for anyone fighting this: NDP is like ARP, but with its own unique quirks!

To be completely honest, diving into a hands-on deployment like this was the only way for me to truly master IPv6. It forced me to gain deep, practical knowledge by troubleshooting real-world issues. Many universities do not even run IPv6 on campus, and even during my cybersecurity degree, the curriculum only covered it briefly. However, my professors I think introduced pfSense precisely because it is such a vast and powerful educational tool. It gave me the perfect sandbox to push myself and master complex concepts far deeper than a standard one-semester class ever could.
