Buying second hand, any limitations?

Looking at a 6100, ideally would want to get a copy of a fresh image to reinstall myself if I go ahead and purchase, would that be an issue? Not sure I would trust someone else's image.
What about software updates and pfsense+ going forward? Assume as long as the serial number or device ID can be validated then getting TAC to provide the image wouldn't be an issue? Did a search but hard to find confirmation.

@Zak-0 you can use the regular Netgate (online) installer that you can "buy" (for $0.-) and download from the Netgate Store to install pfSense+.
All Netgate devices have lifelong pfSense+ support. The installer detects that it's a Netgate device and will install pfSense+.
About the 6100: make sure that it has either a SSD installed or if it got an eMMC be prepared to install an SSD. To decide if an SSD is necessary (if it comes with an eMMC) you can check the state of the eMMC: https://docs.netgate.com/pfsense/en/latest/troubleshooting/disk-lifetime.html#emmc.
