Netgate model that can handle 5-10Gbps IMIX

I know we're in the middle of "RAMpocalypse" or RAMmageddon or whatever, which shows no signs of ending... (thank you AI)
I was recently offered what was essentially a free upgrade from 1G to 5Gbps fiber internet at home. My trusty 6100 is starting to really sweat at those speeds. With some tuning, I was able to get to pretty much full speed 5Gbps, with CPU pinning to about 96% on all cores.
Just wondering if there are any glimmers of hope for a faster desktop model aimed at this cohort (somewhere between the 6100 and the 8200)
(this is basically a followup to New hardware in 2026?)

@luckman212 My 8200 shows no stress at 2.5Gbps. Best I can test right now.

Thanks. I removed the political reference and corrected what I wrote (8300->8200)
I was hoping there'd be something in the $999-1199 range since this is for "pro home" use after all.

2.5Gbps port there. -
There does need to be a better "6100". Home internet is ever increasing in speed. AT&T, and I am sure others, are delivering 10Gb to homes now, it is just restricted to a slower speed.

In the meantime, I had no choice but to buy a temporary no-name box from China and will attempt to run pfSense+ on it. Thus, I need to buy a pfSense+ license.
@stephenw10 can I purchase this ahead of time, or do I need to wait until I get my device in order to generate the "NDI" id number?

You can purchase a CE upgrade token in advance but you will then need to install CE and upgrade from there.
I would just wait until you get the device and the NDI and install Plus directly.

@stephenw10 OK thanks- one last question: if the device turns out to be junk and dies in 3 months, is the plus license transferable to a different device or does it get thrown out?

As defined here we can transfer it one time to a new device. Ping me here. But we're not totally inflexible! Contact TAC if you have some issue beyond that.

Just circling back to report that my new device (sadly not Netgate hardware) is running like a champ... ~11% cpu usage at the below speeds...
Still, the moment Netgate comes out with some new gear, I will happily switch back.

PSA: I just learned the hard way (had to break out my console cable) ... don't try to configure FQ_CODEL to shape 5Gbps+ connections:

@luckman212 I see no reason to have to buy a China made PC with strange BIOS. There are plenty of used Dells out there that you can add a dual port Intel 10gig card in for home use.
With a business you are better off buying a Netgate PC for support.

It’s a coreboot bios. I think I’d more inclined to trust coreboot than Dell.
