Accidentally on Beta

As subject, somehow I got on the pfSense+ 26.07 Beta track. No offense, but I'd prefer Release! :) I have a hundred ACBs I can look at, but not knowing when this happened, what can I check to determine the right config to install when I rebuild to Release? I see the second line in the config as Version 23.6, 24.0, 24.5, etc. Can that indicate where I was when this happened? Thanks for reading and any replies!

@provels config version as been 24.5 since 26.3
24.0 would of been 25.07

@provels looks like from the info they have up 26.07 will still be the same config rev number 24.5 So might be hard to tell when it switched. Might have to look to when you could first download the beta. Not sure when that was - but it wasn't that long ago from what I remember with threads have seen.

@tedquade thanks - so @provels now you know it wasn't before that date.. So have to look for backup after that. Isn't there a log to when you updated? Also should of take an snapshot you can just roll back too.
Not sure how far back your general log goes to - but can see in mine exactly when it booted to 26.03.1

@johnpoz Yeah, should have checked the Boot Environments, but they're bye bye. Well, had some issues reinstalling. Maybe it was my older installer. 26.03.1 failed several time when extracting the pfSense system, and trying to reinstall the beta exited quickly. 25.11.1 installed fine, so I then upgraded that to 26* and tried to apply my config. The packages didn't install after reboot, so I installed all manually and my data was there, but the Packages menu said they all still needed to be installed.
Also, no logs bc when I reinstalled Syslog-NG, it wiped the second internal drive I use for that. But I'm sure I'll muddle through. Always do. In spite of myself.
EDiT: Back on 26.03.1, seems it was the older installer at fault. Time traveled back to June. No loss, thanks again.

The ZFS filesystem and the Boot Environments, with pfSense plus, is that one major advantage of your system.
You can peek into a Beta, check if is fine for you, and go back with 'one click' if you detect an issue.
I could even go back to 24.11 if I wanted to. Just a click.And look at the 'cost' = the disk space ! It's close to nothing.
What's up with your system that yours is 'bye bye' ?

@Gertjan I had already wiped and reinstalled. Oops. And I didn't even do that right, since it now says
This system does not support ZFS Boot Environments.But looking back, I should have just stayed on the beta and upgraded to Release when it came out. That works, right? It will get fixed right today. I think I'll just reinstall the beta and my last backup. And to think I used to get paid for fixing stuff like this. SMH

Make sure whatever you install you setup zfs so you can use boot environments.

@stephenw10 Up on ZFS now. When I restored my config and rebooted, I didn't see any "packages being reinstalled" message like old days. Did that change? All I see installed are the stock packages with the rectangular chasing arrows. All my packages are missing from installed.

@provels you can try the auto configuration backup do you have the device key form when it was a good? Just do a firmware install and after it comes up plug in the device id and select a backup from when it was good

@JonathanLee I think I'm on my way to recovery. I DL'd the ACB and then restored it from local file. Pkgs reinstallining now. Don't know what happened last time.
I'm going to lay down for a while. -
@provels I have been there many times I was just lucky I saved that device id key, it changes each time you reinstall but if you have one from when you had a good install you can plug it in and download it like you did.

@provels I also have a backup ssd with a version of pfsense I like on it all pre-configured and ready to go with my config for emergency swap out.
