      Hello everyone,

I am currently using AC_Name\Service_Name in the service name config of my PPPoE connections to establish connections to different Access concentrators on the ISP side.

I am using the latest plus version as well.

The main requirement for this is to ensure that I get different gateways for each of my PPPoE connections as having the same gateway causes issues with routing on pfsense.

This works with mpd5 but not if_pppoe as it seems that the GUI config is silently dropped by if_pppoe.

I would like to check if there is any workaround to get it working with if_pppoe?

Not yet AFAIK. However you should not have to do that with PPPoE. Because it's a point-to-point connection you can have the same gateway on multiple interfaces and pfSense can still route to the interface directly. I have that exact setup here.

Well, the trick is to specify a different ip than the default gateway supplied,

Even though google et al can work, its better to check something stable inside your isp, eg a name server , or a bras.

I will try setting different monitoring IPs ..
I tired it once and it didnt seem to work as mpd5 was working fine I just fell back to it.
