gateways disabled after reboot
-
Not sure if the general question is the correct of if it fits more in the routing section...
Today I could pinpoint (hopefully) an issue I have seen now multiple times, but without knowing when it happens exactly.
I was running on v26.03 and did update to 26.03.1 today. After the update was done I logged in to GUI and checked that all was fine.
In parallel I monitored the boot via a serial console connection at a different PC.
Call me mad or something else, but after an update is done I usually restart the appliance again.
So after this reboot I noticed that my VPN gateways are not shown up in the dashboard any longer. This is the normal view in my dashboard:

After the additional reboot the 2 lower ones have been missing. Looking up in System - Routing - Gateways I found that both are disabled...!???
After enabling the view is showing again all 3 gateways.Anyhow, question is why the gateways are disappearing after an additional reboot?
Actually I would expect such behavior directly after the update (if this is by design).
Unfortunately I did not reboot a 2nd or 3rd time to check if this is after every reboot, but as said at the beginning, I noticed the disappearing gateways after an update more than once and I am quite sure that a further reboot will not disable the gateways.Regards

Are those dynamic gateways created by the connecting VPN? If so the VPNs may simply not have connected yet when you checked. Though if that was the case I'd expect simply refreshing the dash would show them as up after they connect.
If you reboot again do they go back to disabled?

@stephenw10 Yes, I did it right now
, which was again a kind of madness because I am not at home but remote.
But it works, the gateways are still seen in the dashboard.
And no, a simple refresh would not help as the gateways have been disabled (the checkbox at the gateway page was selected).
I did a refresh, not yesterday, but at when I saw this already in past until I checked the gateway page.Regards
P.S. Just seen in the history of the automatic backups that I needed to enable the gateways after updating to 26.03 too. And if I remember well this was not for the first time.

Hmm, curious. If you look in the config history can you see where they were disabled?
-
@stephenw10 No, that was the weird thing, I did see that I enabled them again after the update in April, but there was no entry when they have been disabled.

And unfortunately I deleted obsolete backups to keep "footprint" small. If I remember well this was the 3rd or 4th time this happens. I will keep an eye on this when the next update is available
.Regards
