Notifications when Gateway is down
-
Is there any way to get a notification to my phone when a gateway is down? I know there are SMTP notifications and Telegram. I was kind of hoping for something directly to my phone though, so it doesn't get buried in other email/Telegram notifications.
Thanks!

Define "directly to my phone" ?
Telegram, mail, etc is, afaik, is directly to your phone. You want an sms ? That can be done, but you have to make one (rather complex thing) for yourself, as every phone company uses it's own 'protocol' and access to a sms gateway, not being a phone, is very $$$ (€€€).
Btw : a mail notification, or telegram etc, will send out over the default gateway of your pfSense.
And you want a message if that gateway is down ? (how does the notification get send at that moment ? ^^ at best it will get send when the interface comes back online )A possible solution is : if you normally don't use gmail (has direct asap notification), use a gmail account. As soon as you see a gmail notification, you know its your pfSense.
edit : maybe : you could probably assign a special ring notification if it was your pfSense sending something.
edit : or hotmail, whatever they call that one today.Next best is : test the reachability of your gateway/pfSense from the outside - the place where your wireguard is connected to.
My advise : invest your time in understanding why the link goes down, which boils down to : get a better ISP ?
