      Hi, @stephenw10
      My pfSense+ informed that:

      Messages
Your TAC Subscription expired on 2023-05-12. Please renew your TAC Subscription or purchase a pfSense+ subscription by visiting the Netgate store.

I mention that I was able to update to 26.03.1, and I did not change any hardware on my appliance.

Can you help me check why is it invalidated?

I sent you my Netgate ID a while back, but I can send it again. Please let me know if you can help.

I am seeing the same message on both of my pfsense+ installs. Is this a wide-spread event caused by your backend?

            Regards, what3ver

It does look like a backend issue. We are digging...

                  Hello.
Same problem for me with my firewalls, since this morning (there is a time difference for me).
My computers have no modifications since several years, but the subscription is told to be expired since 2024 !
I was able to update to 26.03.1 too... and all successive releases between 2023 and now.
I was trying to contact the support, but in fact it's not possible either to open a ticket for me (geolocalization is too strict ?)
Thank you in advance for digging the problem !

Yup any fix for this will likely apply to anyone who originally used a home/lab upgrade.

No idea why you can open a ticket though. What error do you see?

A red box at the bottom of the support request form, without showing the submission form, saying my security policy is too strict, I must decrease web parameters etc. I don't think so... and I won't do that.
I must use a VPN to connect with a french IP in order to access this forum and the support, otherwise my IP is blocked ! Don't know why. I live in Canada.
Nevermind, I can see I'm not the only one, I thought I had made a mistake by myself somewhere ! In fact, no.

For information, here's a screen capture with the error for a support ticket request :

I think Netgate simply turned a blind eye for two years to the fact that people were using PLUS without a purchased license, and now they've decided to put the question bluntly: either buy it or switch to CE.

p.s. I also started seeing this on all my installations on Proxmox with HOME license. In theory, this should have happened a long time ago.

@Viper_Rus I was afraid of that also. But @stephenw10 explained to me that this is not the case.

Well, in any case, the worst that can happen is that you will have to wait for CE 2.9.0 so that the configs are compatible.

@Viper_Rus I'm glad to see that are more of us that are still using this subscriptions.

Giving us 2 more years is respectable in my opinion, since, we like or not, pfSense+ is not a charity anymore.

I'm hoping maybe we can buy a cheaper type of a license for us home users when this ones will be invalidated.

@laurent.sailla I'm in Ottawa and have been using this forum for many years from here without any problems. Also, using the strict mode on firefox will lead to lots of sites breaking. IIRC it warns you about that. Just relax it for the ticket submission and then restore it. Not a big deal.

It's not just the system update that's affected. We now have a serious problem. Packages won't install or reinstall. With issues like these, we need CE 2.9.0 even more urgently.

I'm willing to pay 129, but not per year, but indefinitely for one device without support. Unfortunately, I can't afford 129 per year at all, considering I have six copies of PfSense running under Proxmox.

Ouch... I'm studying since several weeks a way to virtualize easily my firewalls and other things, and migrate them from the pfsense plus to 2.8.1 CE release actually. No way, I'll have to rewrite nearly everything, there's always a problem during import, despite i modify and rewrite the xml file... the good start point is an older version of xml, compatible with the CE version, hopefully I keep them all of course. But it's not trivial at all. Some configs need to be rewrited from scratch. Not very funny in fact.
It's quite a short delay, and surely a very aggressive policy to force users to buy or rebuy a new license, without any announcement before, even for the same machine ! Tests with your own policy on a new system or proxmox are even not possible beacause you must buy a new license first, and if the machine is just a sandbox, it becomes a lost license... I can imagine that could be a real problem for many of you all. I'm a bit lost... we don't know the consequences for the production firewalls : will they suddenly stop ? what about the patches and packages updates ? So many questions... and a big disappointment. I think we all like pfSense, it's a very good firewall, no debate about that, but this kind of sudden policy makes you think about other ways.
