Email notifications

I successfully received a test email via 'TEST SMTP', but I am not receiving any system notifications (e.g., admin logins, firmware upgrades). Are there standard email alerts? and how do I enable them?

"admin login" ? Imho, not really needed, as the admin knows he's logged in, as he just logged in ^^
Firmware upgrade : You can create yourself the "there is a upgrade" notification. Click here : pkg_check.php

From what I recall, when pfSense is about to restart (reboot), you get a mail.
Or when the update was successfully.
And some more.
NUT (UPS manager) can mail also if there are 'power' related events.
You might say pfSense is very sparse with notifications.

IIRC the update notification script is broken with current pfsense versions.

Some packages are part of the base system and will not show up in Package Manager. If any such updates are listed below, run `pkg upgrade` from the shell to install them:

pfSense-pkg-System_Patches: 2.3.3 -> 2.3.4 [pfSense]

and ones I visited the GUI, there was an update for "System_Patches".

Maybe there is an issue 'right now', on the server (Netgate) side, but that will be solved.

@Gertjan That is from the update checker 3rd party script though.
