Upgrade pfSense Plus v26.03.1 to 26.07 and system patches

Good morning,
My current version is pfSense Plus v26.03.1

Today, I found an update for the system_patches package to version 2.3.4.
At the same time, there is also an update available for pfSense 26.07.

I updated the system_patches package first.
After this update, when navigating to "System" > "Patches," I see a list of system patches waiting to be updated (see attached photo).

Question:
In this case, is it better to apply the system patches first and then update to pfSense 26.07, or can I skip updating the system patches and proceed directly to the pfSense 26.07 update?

Those patches are in 26.07 so if you are upgrading to that there's no need to apply them in 26.03.1

I saw the same thing.
The 'updated' version of "system patches" contains all the GUI modification which changed in 26.07.
If you use 26.03.1, it will list them all as a possible patch to apply.

I upgraded straight to 26.07, and when I revisited the system patches again, none were listed.

( the "Patch Captive portal lower case password " is my home made patch, as Gen Z doesn't know the difference between upper case and lower case ).

After all, upgrading to 26.07 is actually like applying 'one big patch'.
edit : it does more then that btw. It still is advise to upgrade/update pfSense to 26.07.
