Seems to be a "sideeffect" of this:

After resetting the data, it works and shows metrics for a while, but then goes back to zero. Below is screen.

At first, ps -auxwwd | grep rrd showed that the script was not running at all.
I tried to run it manually. Now it is running under lockf, and I will watch how long it holds up before stopping again.

Do you have a PPPoE WAN?

@stephenw10 I do, but service stops when a dhcp wan flaps also.

I need to do more proper testing if you think its related to specific type of wan

not sure if the patch will apply cleanly on CE 2.9.0 (I wrote it on 26.07) but I'm sure it could be adapted.

@luckman212 The patch was applied to both 26.07 and CE 2.9.0. So far so good, let's see how it goes in the long run. Thanks a lot.
