      Hi everyone,

I'm running OpenVPN (UDP) on pfSense 2.8.1 CE. When clients connect via VPN and upload files to a VM, the speed is very slow. Is there any way to fix this?

      Thanks!

        Can't answer.
We don't know why it's slow, where the bottle neck is situated. It could be anything.

I could create a list with item to check, like :
Don't use a VM, as it's a shared resource device. Use a bare bone.
Or allocate way more resources to the VM host.
Check if your pfSense uses the onboard hardware encryption devices, if it has one.
        Check the physical NIC,
        Check the virtual VM NIC,
Change your POTS ADSL ISP connection for a multi Gig bits/sec fiber connection.
Get a leased line, so you don't have to compete with other ISP users over ISP resources.

Check also the other side of the connection ? A low bud phone over a slopy 3G data connection who promised you to have "the max" but they gave you "nothing" (as ISP promise a lot, and then share that bandwidth over thousands of users).
The device on the other side, does it also have the hardware encryption ? As it's needed on both sides.
        ....

I could go one for a long time like this (pretty useless, I know)

Give us more details, so answers can become more detailed.
