System Patches Package v2.3.5
-
System Patches package v2.3.5 is now available for pfSense Plus software versions 26.07 and 26.03.1, along with CE 2.9.0. Version 2.2.31 for CE 2.8.1 is also available.
All versions contain a security fix for
xmlrpc.php-- see #17056 for details. On Plus 26.07 and CE 2.9.0 there are several patches for issues discovered after those releases, including fixes for failures restarting Unbound, rules being generated for down gateways that should be skipped, and missing units from the Gateways widget.
Plus 26.07 patches also include a fix for CoreDNS ZTE Mode.
There were also recent updates to the Nexus package so be sure to update that as well.

All working nicely
... any reason #15637 didn't make the cut? -
No particular reason, it seemed like a very minor inconvenience compared to the other things. It may still get added if/when the next set of patches is required.
-
Yup definitely minor! just wanted to make sure there was no issue/conflict having that patch enabled along with all the bundled patches.
-
@jimp I had auto apply enabled but it apparently didn’t because they all have an Apply button…? I manually applied all recommended.
Separately, the docs say:
“automatically applying entries in the recommended patches list.”The patches package page’s note says:
“Auto-Apply applies patches in the order shown in the custom patches table. Reorder patches as needed so the package can apply patches in the intended order.”I thought it was only the recommended?

There was a small bug preventing that from working during install, I pushed a fix for just that so the package is updated again (2.3.5_1) at least for Plus 26.07, 26.03.1, and CE 2.9.0 (The version on CE 2.8.1 doesn't have auto-apply for recommended patches).

I installed the System Patches Package v2.3.5 and my internet speeds dropped from 400/400 to 90/90
Now I'll admit I didn't check my upload and download speeds right before I did the patching, but is there any potential that the System Patches Package v2.3.5 caused this speed drop?Since it's working I'll let it go until I have time over the weekend to troubleshoot this more

No, nothing should have touched that unless maybe it was working by accident due to a bug fixed in the patches (e.g. your gateway is offline and now you're hitting different rules).
Start a fresh thread to dig into it there.
