      Hello everyone,
      I am a newbie here. and would like to setup my PFSense to connect to ExpressVPN through OpenVPN.
      I already have an account with ExpressVPN. I installed PFSense on a Hyper-V VM and setup everything as mentioned in Expressvpn documentation. PFSense is not able to connect to ExpressVPN.
      I went through the current topics in the forum but cannot find a similar case to the issue I am experiencing.
      I have been almost daily in contact with ExpressVPN support to fix this issue, but they are not able to fix it so far.
      Any Advice?
      Thanks!!

        @hkohila you will have to provide more information for anyone to help you.

        How did you set it up, which tutorial did you follow (the ExpressVPN one is for pfSense version 2.4.5, it states on their website)? What is the error message you get? Does you pfSense installation work correctly, when not using VPN?

          I just did the same thing. Nearly the same thing, as I don't have a VM, I've a dedicated router device.

          I got my user and password, and the ovpn client config file (for a connection to Paris (France).

          Two observation :

          Not all ExpressVPN locations may be available for manually configured connections.

          And instead of using this :

          4713059d-fe7f-4034-a611-310500732256-image.png

          I used this :

          remote-random;
          comp-lzo no;
          verify-x509-name Server name-prefix;
          key-direction 1;
          route-method exe;
          route-delay 2;
          tun-mtu 1500;
          fragment 1450;
          mssfix 1450;
          sndbuf 524288;
          rcvbuf 524288

          Clicked Save, and back on the main dashboard :

          c78deed6-72f9-4b6a-b9a2-5fb05e863676-image.png

          Note that I'm not using it right now, I'm not pushing any traffic through it. It's just connected.

          The ExpressVPN exists for helping you with phone, pad and PC/MAC app issues.
          They can't be aware of the thousands of different router models out there.
          The 'manual' method exists with a condition : You can use it, but you're on your own.

          I re read the entire setup from here.
          It's still valid.
          I did change some final Custom settings, see above.

            Hello,
            I downloaded PFSense 2.4.5 and did all the configuration from expressvpn documentation on their website, and applied the changes you posted. Still didn't work.
            I also tried all of that on PFSense 2.9. Still not working.
            Obviously, I am missing something which is preventing it from connecting.
            I have attached the openvpn log file for your review.
            PFSense2-4-5 Log 10-8-26.txt
            NOTE:
            PFSense itself is working seamlessly without OPNVPN. all the issues I have is with OPNVPN.

            I am open to any suggestion/recommendation to get this up and running.
            Thanks!!

                I presume that "149.19.196.104" is the resolved IP of an express VPN server.
