      I am a customer of an ISP that disconnects me every 24 hours and then assigns a new IP address.

      To ensure that this forced disconnection always takes place at the same time, I have set up a cron job (/var/etc/pppoe_restart_pppoe0) which runs every morning at 04:57.

      Since updating from CE 2.8.1 to 2.9.0, this has caused Unbount to stop and it does not restart automatically.

      I then have to restart unbound either manually via the web interface or in the shell using the command /usr/local/sbin/pfSsh.php playback svc restart unbound.

      As you can see, unbound first reports that the service has stopped at 04:57:13.

      How can I identify the cause of this problem?

        A bit strange, as the "Error in SSL_CTX use_PrivateKey_file crypto error:8000000D:system library::Permission denied" issue was, imho, resolved.
        There are some recent (couple of weeks old now, as it was resolved) forum threads about it.
        Do you have pfSense most important package installed : the system patcher ?

          I have System_Patches (sysutils) 2.3.5_1 installed.

          But I’m such a fool.

          After updating from 2.8.1 to 2.9.0, I obviously should have applied a number of ‘Recommended System Patches’ that were installed automatically, but I overlooked them.

          I've now applied them.
