i have download thispfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-4g-nanobsd.img.gz
then unzip this, then i tried to burned it by nero -9.
While burning, it was saying , Block mismatch, Fix/ignore. I pressed ignore. it burned, but with that Dvd , the system does not boot.what i am doing wrong ???
also : whats the differences between
pfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-4g-nanobsd.img.gz and pfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-512mb-nanobsd.img.gz
why one is 3GB and other one is only 512 mb ?? whats the difference between those 2 ??
thanks for your help

a file something.gz is, by convention, a gzip compressed file.
pfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-4g-nanobsd.img.gz is intended to be written to a 4GB memory card while pfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-512mb-nanobsd.img.gz is intended to be written to a 512MB memory card. (In both cases, after decompression.)
The nanobsd file are disk images intended to be written directly to a raw disk. On Unix, where the memory card is (say) /dev/sdc, use the commands
gunzip pfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-4g-nanobsd.img.gz
dd if=pfSense-1.2.3-RELEASE-4g-nanobsd.img of=/dev/sdc
to decompress the disk image, then write it to the memory card. Then put the memory card in the target system and boot.
I'm sure this is written up in one of the forums.

If you want to burn to a CD, you need to download the iso file.
The nanobsd files are not intended to be installed/run off a CD. -
I learned it !Thank you!!
