Your system has two Intel gigE NICs (called em0 and em1) and a Nvidia (motherboard?) NIC called nfe0.
Do you think there is something wrong?

no there is nothing wrong but a earlier issue was a little bit strange. I have the onboard nic which is a RTL one NOT listed in the device compatibility and a dual port Intel ethernet card Intel PRO 1000 MT which IS listed in hardware compatibility list. i was plugging the wan cable from the modem to the one port of my intel eth card (em0) and the other cable which goes to the gigabit switch to the other port of the intel gig eth card (em1). The problem was that when i plugged the wan cable on the intels port it couldn't get assigned an ip address from the ISP using DHCP. Plugged it on the onboard one and worked right away. i have to mention that even that my onboard controller is not listed in HCL it is recognised and works flawlessly.
