Rebooting hangs under 1.0 REL
-
Just installed 1.0 REL on a shiny new dell box that will be replacing my existing pfsense box.
Everything is great except for the fact that if i issue a reboot command the system goes through a shutdown procedure to the point of syncing, and then hangs. It never actually reboots. I'll tinker with ACPI settings in the BIOS but thought I would post in case its an easy fix that people are aware of.

btw….
when i issue the reboot it makes it as far as this then hangs
Waiting (max 60 seconds) for system process
vnlru' to stop...done Waiting (max 60 seconds) for system process
bufdaemon' to stop...done
Waiting (max 60 seconds) for system process `syncer' to stop...
Syncing disks, vnodes remaining...0 done
All buffers synced.

Check your bios power management settings. You might need to enable something there to make it work. The nexcoms need some special bios settings too to make it reboot/switch off and so on.

This problem was solved by enabling the only available power related option in the dell bios.
Flash forward a couple of months… building another pfsense system on new dell hardware, same problem, but now the bios doesnt have ANY power related options to change and I dont see a workaround. Not sure what I'll do. If I figure it out I'll follow up.
