Intel 82562GT NIC unrecognized!!
-
Hello all!
I'v fetch my new tyan server (B5121, transport gs14) which was the "cheaper" available for making an efficient firewall.
Everything is okay with it (I tried linux and windwos with it), especially concerning its 2 integrated NIC (one gigabit, one 100M). But with pfsense, I mean, probably freebsd, doesn't seem to recognize my intel 82562GT nic!!
I can't understand, because engineers at Tyan say that the broadcom gigabit nic should not work with freebsd (5.4) but it is working very good (bge0) with pfsense 1.0.1 (freebsd 6.1). In stead of that, that pfsense can't see my intel nic that should work without any problem following what tyan engineers say!Can anybody help me please??
I do thank you by advance!..

Try http://www.pfsense.com/~sullrich/1.0.1-SNAPSHOT-12-14-2006/

Downloading…
I'll give it a try right now. Thanks for your help. -
That version does still not see my intel nic…
I don't mind about putting a pci network card "temporarly" (there is only one pci port and it is to be used) but why is it the intel card that is unrecognized and not the broadcom as it should?

It appears that your adapter is not supported in Freebsd 6.2. Sorry :(

Okay, thanks to you ;-)But isn't there any solution? (patch, add-on or else??)

If there is, it would be up to the FreeBSD team. Check on their forum/website. :)
