Realtek RTL8111E support in 2.0 Beta ??

Hi,
I assembled a mini-itx system last week. It has a Gigabyte H55N mobo with Realtek RTL8111E chip for LAN. For now its is the only NIC on the system. I have another PCIe Gigabit card ordered online and its going to take some time before I have it (ships from China). To get a taste of pfSense I got it installed on an 8GB CF card. Once all configured I will turn it into Read Only by changing it to Embedded version.
The problem I am facing is the Realtek RTL8111E chip. pfSense is not able to detect the chip on version 1.2.3. I tried auto detect numerous times to no avail. Without LAN ip I cannot proceed forward and stuck till I have a resolution for it.
I was wondering if Realtek RTL8111E chip is supported in 2.0 Beta? Could anyone please help me get the Realtek RTL8111E chip identified in pfSense.

If I recall correctly pfSense 1.2.3 insists on two network interfaces.
If I recall correctly there have been some recent posts on Realtek 8111 NICs. Have you searched the forums?

Yes, I know pf Sense requires two NICs. As I said earlier, I wanted to get taste of pfSense and understand my way around it. I tried 2.0 RC1 and it detects the NIC as re0. But the image has a lot of issues with my system. A lot of CF card read write issues. Don't experience this with 1.2.3.
I already did a lot of search for this on the forums. Only one post was there where someone had somehow uploaded the drivers thru the Web Gui interface. He already had pfSense up and running with a set of other NICs. For me the case is different as I can't go past the NIC detection.

This post: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,32983.0.html struck me as possibly being relevant.

You know pfSense 1.2.3 requires two NICs but you want it to proceed past interface assignment with only one NIC?
While you have only one NIC I think you will have to use pfSense 2.0. Then you needn't use automatic interface assignment (others have reported that some types of Realtek NICs are not friendly with automatic interface assignment): you have no WAN and LAN should be re0. But I have never tried to use such a minimal configuration so I don't know how it will pan out. If you want to explore that and run into further problems I suggest you post a bit more of what the system is telling you so the readers have a better understanding of the details of the problem.
Once all configured I will turn it into Read Only by changing it to Embedded version.
If you plan to eventually run the embedded version of pfSense I suggest you start with that. The embedded version does switch the disk to read/write when necessary to update the configuration file.

Yes, that is the only post I saw. But nothing on how to get to identify it during install.
Anyways, RC1 latest Feb 28th version identifies the Realtek RTL8111E chip perfectly. I could get just the single NIC to work by creating 2 simple VLANs. VLAN 10 for WAN and VLAN 20 for LAN. I have Netgear GS108T managed switch where I created similar VLAN to separate the data packets.
Its working ok for now. Till I get my second NIC delivered I will keep this setup and get to understand pfSense.
