Static IP via PPPoE missing!
-
Hello!
I've just one question… why have you removed static IP via PPPoE? I was so happy to hear that pfSense 2.0 is gonna support multiple PPPoE, but know I can't select a static IP for the configuration. Please tell me this option will come back soon! And if not, please explain me why you removed this feature.
Cheers

Okay, this topic is solved for me. I've set up the PPPoE connection to my provider (T-Online) without the static IP and I've received the static IP automatically. Which means, my problem is solved. But I guess there are some guy's around which don't receive their static IPs automatically.

It is very rare that an ISP using PPPoE would require you to hardcode your IP on the client side. Almost all of them hand you the IP automatically at login.

Not solved yet or I'm not sure what kind of consequenses it might have :/. I'm receiving the IP in need but with a Subnet mask of: 255.255.255.255.

It is normal for PPPoE to have a 255.255.255.255 subnet mask.

I see, thanks a lot for the answers! Cheers
