Internet Connection UP and Down
-
I am trying to troubleshoot this issue with Qwest DSL my pfsense box. Qwest said that we had a bad model of modem that reboots from time to time, so I replaced it last night with a new model. I am using PPoE user and password to connect to the modem through pfsense. I am using pfsense 2.0 RC1.
Do you think the following logs would indicate a internet line issue, pfsense hardware or software error? Please help this is for a business with site to site openvpn connection.
Thank you in advance!

That shows you're seeing loss which is most likely a problem with your modem or line, but PPPoE logs would be more telling.

FYI - My PPPoE Raw and PPPoE Logins logs are both empty. Maybe I am not getting errors or I don't have logging enabled for PPPoE? Am I looking in the right place for these logs?
I am looking at Logs > VPN PPPoE Raw and Logins, is this the right place? I also searched my system logs and don't see any ppp or PPPoE messages.

That is not the right place, those logs are for the PPPoE server. The PPPoE WAN type connection logs are just in the standard system log, iirc.

Thanks Jimp,
Ok, yeah I did a filter and I never found any PPPoE stuff in the System Log, so I guess my PPPoE is ok.

It wouldn't say PPPoE necessarily. The name of the program that does it is mpd.
