Problems with GUI in IE9
-
Sad to see that a lot of users would potentially miss out on a great firewall!
Dashboard has big issues in IE8 and IE9 compared to FF.

I think that there were more discussion already about this. But have you tried to toggle compatible mode in ie?
-
Yes and then it works reasonably well, but it shouldnt be necessary to toggle it one should think.
-
If you use pfsense_ng as theme, then the menubar is not working in IE9 whether or not using compatibility mode.

Things that work perfectly in Firefox, Chrome, Safari and Opera and don't work in IE most likely aren't our problem, and end up being a nightmare to work around countless IE bugs. Nobody has ever volunteered their time to fix things like that as they're ugly, time consuming and headache-inducing. IE is less than 15% of the visits to our sites, though that's still a very large number of people (tens of thousands a month), and ideally we want IE to work just as well as all the browsers that aren't buggy.
We're glad to commit patches if you would like to fix things in a way that won't break anything in the now-functional browsers. Otherwise what we end up having to do is pay a web developer to fix things and for the time being that's not going to happen unless you or someone would like to put some money towards it. We do have good relatively inexpensive people available there but generally can't fund things that someone isn't specifically paying us for, as the general donations we get don't even cover our expenses on hosting and development hardware much less anything else.

Another thing too is Firefox works better with PfSense. If you don't want to install Firefox on the PC you can use the portable app version so this way you can run it off the USB flash drive.
