Pfsense with one nic 802.1Q
-
Guys I have a question in regards to Pfsense I would like to know can you run Pfsense with one network card? For example, I would like to be able to use 802.1q vlans so basically I would take one nic and sub it out to virtual nics one being wan, lan and wireless of course I would than run a trunk to the nic. I've done this configuration before using Microsoft ISA Server without any problems I just wonder can this be done with Pfsense.

Yes it can be done.
Tested on pfSense 2.0 and works fine.

Yes, that works fine with 1.2.3, 2.0, or pretty much any version out there. You are prompted to setup VLANs at the console when you first boot the router when installing, add the VLANs you want, assign them as you like, plug into a port that trunks those VLANs, and it works just fine.
