we expect some problems with mac spoofing on our Nexcom NSA with 8 Intel nics. We running PfSense version 2 RC 2.

The network port em2 is in dhcp mode with mac spoofing. Thats the way we get our fixed ip from our Provider.
After a few days network port goes down and never come up. The port is coming up for 1 second before its going down again (infinite loop).

em2: link state changed to DOWN
em2: link state changed to UP
em2: link state changed to DOWN
em2: link state changed to UP
em2: link state changed to DOWN
em2: link state changed to UP
em2: link state changed to DOWN
em2: link state changed to UP
em2: link state changed to DOWN

To solve the issue i need to assign another unused port (eg. em3) to the interface. Then i disconnect cable on the "error" port (em2) which has the error then afer 1 minute i plug in the cable again to em2 and port is comming up. After this procedure i reassign (em2) to the interface and all is running fine for some days.

In this case the em3 port become the same spoofed mac adress like em2. You can see it in status -> interfaces. after unassinging em3 it still has the spoofed mac.

Is there a way to get em3 real mac adress back?

If i try to use em3 as a new interface for something pfsense use the spoofed mac address from em2.
