Compilers ?

I am new here so be nice with me ;D Just started with pfSense!
In the same installation with the router (pfSense) I would like to install asterisk, freepbx
and dahdi driver because I got a hardware pci card for asterisk. There is a port of Dahdi drivers for Freebsd, but I need compilers, the whole package.
How can I obtain it? Can I? Or may I broke something ?
ps: Asterisk and freepbx installed from pkg_add, didn't touch anything else.

Hello,
The short answer that I've heard for compiling anything is you need to get a different "normal" FreeBSD box of the same version that pfSense is using (which looks to be 8.1-RELEASE on pfSense 2.0-RC3) and compile on that. Once you have the binaries, you can copy them over to pfSense.
I've never done this but search around the forums because there are others that have done similar things.

If you have VirtualBox/ESX, you can grab a pre-made builder image from here:
http://devwiki.pfsense.org/DevelopersBootStrapAndDevIsoYou can use that VM to compile things and then move them to the firewall.
The usual disclaimers apply, though, anything you install will reduce the overall security/integrity of the system, yadda yadda yadda.
