Dropped WAN connection
-
Hi!
I have noticed that my pfSense firewall sometimes loses the WAN connection, I don’t know if it has to do with the firewall or the ISP, anyway if pfSense would reconnect it self when it happens it would not be a problem. I need to go in to the GUI and use the button “reconnect” on the “Status/Interface” side to establish a connection, some one with the same problem or some one with a solution for this?

What kind of WAN connection do you run and what is your infrastructure at WAN? Also what version of pfSense are you running?

Hi!
I have a fiber connection 30/30Mbps, the fiber is converted to Ethernet and the pfSens is connected directly to the converter, i don`t have to log in it is a "always on" connection with public IP by DHCP, I have also noticed that when I have to reconnect and getting a new IP my DDNS is not updated, I´m using Dyndns (dyndmic).
I´m running 1.0.1 on a new Intel motherboard with 3Ghz Celeron, 3 x 1Gb Intel NIC, 512MB RAM and pfSense on an USB flash drive.

Upgrade to the latest snapshot. There has been some dhclient updates that should fix that situation (see http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,2645.0.html ).
