Cacti Monitoring
-
Looking for input on monitoring a pfsense device with cacti. I have snmp enabled and can get some queries to work (ie: some interface stats) but items such as CPU and memory usage are not coming across correctly, if at all. I have tried various templates without success. Running cacti 0.8.8 from a remote host. I have looked around and found some out of date pfsense templates from a french blog and some freebsd templates that do no provide the proper information without(even after does not appear to work) major hackage of configs pfsense side which I would prefer to just not do if possible. I figured the simple ucd/net template items would work but they do not.
Am I just doing something wrong or do I need another route/template?
TIA

I had thought that the standard unix host template in Cacti would get it, but I looked in the Cacti setup I used last and I only had interface graphs so I may not have actually tried to use that.
First, make sure you have all of the boxes checked on the SNMP screen so the modules are loaded to give the info.
If it helps, we use bsnmpd, and copies of the MIBs can be found here:
