Quagga OSPF package and custom configuration
-
I hope that this hasn't been answered elsewhere but I could not find an answer. I want to be able to configure using the VTY of Quagga but every-time I reboot it gets overwritten by the configuration in the GUI, what is the proper way to stop this behavior, or even better how could I make it so the GUI reads in the changes?

I suggest you on of these three options:
-
Contribute to the package, including on gui the options you need at github
-
Edit /usr/local/pkg/quagga_ospfd.inc file to include your changes only on your install
-
Install package filer and build your own config file and startup script for quagga ospf binaries
Jimp is the maintainer of this new package.

There isn't a way to use a custom config if you install it via the GUI.
You could just install the binaries (via pkg_add from the shell) and your custom config and such if you like, but if the GUI components are installed it will overwrite the config any time it syncs packages.
Even if there was a custom config option in the GUI, configuring via the vty wouldn't save the changes back to pfSense's package config, it would only save the changes on the disk to the config file of quagga.
