X550e power supply
I just shorted out my power supply. I just it and really good price and i had case open and top of power supply came in contact with to of case and shorted out look like resistor is burned looks like 700000 ohm resistor. I wonder if anyone knows were I can find replacement power supply.
It's a standard atx power supply so you can use anything that is designed to fit in a 1U case.
I had one with a dead PSU, I put a Pico PSU in there. It dramatically lowered the total power consumption, which was nice. :) My unit is 160W but others have used 120W with no problems. Also I had swapped out the CPU for a Pentium-M which actually draws less than the Celeron that it comes with.
Thank you for that idea. Looks like 80 watt should be enough.
I have 1.7 cpu on board and I want to upgrade it it to 770.
Does this takes ecc memory ? Is anyone running snort on it?
80W should be enough but one user found it a problem (using a 60W power brick anyway).
The Pentium-M 770 is almost certainly not worth it. There is a huge premium, even now years after release, and the 533MHz FSB Pentium-Ms are not supported directly by the est(4) driver so speedstep doesn't work.
I don't think it supports ECC ram.
