Procedure for creating a Live CD with Custom Configuration?
-
Hello,
I've been installing quite a few machines with pfSense but having to install the OS, go in and make the neccessary configuration changes plus add and edit several files has become tedious. Is there a method for taking an installation and creating an ISO that I could burn so I could just pop the CD into the CD-ROM of a new machine, install and be done with it? Most of my installs lately have been full installations (non-embedded) and I have quite a few more in the near future.

make a usb stick for every server with youre custum config.xml on it
pfsense will look for it when it boots -
the dev iso has a script for creating a bootable iso. It would be quite a bit of work but you could use that to make a custom iso.

I may have to take a look at that. Thanks.

pfsense will look for it when it bootsThat's fine and all just for config stuff but I don't think it'd get extra packages I install from ports or the files and directories I make for doing bridged VPNs with OpenVPN. I need something that'd get everything.
