PfSense VPN-only with one nic, how can I do this?
-
I'd like to set up PfSense as a VPN-server, not a router. It will be placed in the lan behind an existing router and will only be used to handle OpenVPN connections from external users.
I've read somewhere that it is possible to have PfSense in the same subnet as the 'normal' lan and set it up with only one network interface, but as far as I know the installer insists on at least two interfaces.
So my question is: how do I go about installing PfSense with just one interface and do I need to do anything special to make it stop thinking it is a router?

On 2.x, having one interface is OK. When prompted for the second interface, just press enter.

That makes sense, I'll try that.
