ALIX + mini pci WLM54SAG23 [SOLVED]
-
Installed the card, made sure the the antenna cable connected properly. I was able to add the interface, enable it, turn on dhcp server and set a default firewall rule from wifi subnet to any.
Left all of the wifi settings at defaults except for changing to 802.11g and enabling WPA. Saved and applied all settings.
SSID isn't being broadcast.Status –> Interfaces; wifi interface status says - no carrier
Status --> Wireless; shows multiple wireless routers in neighborhood
I can ping wifi interface itself with no packet loss.Output of ifconfig

SSID isn't being broadcast.
Seems you want the pfSense WiFi to act as an Access Point.

Mode is set to Infrastructure

Mode is set to Infrastructure
WiFi101: One or more Infrastructure nodes talk to an Access Point.
Which system is the Access Point? (Normally, but not necessarily, it would be the router.)

Thank you wallabybob. I changed the mode to Access Point and it worked.
