I am looking for a solution that will be able to monitor multiple site to site vpn connections.<br />
I seen zabbix and installed the client and proxy but I am a bit lost on how to configure it.</p>
<p dir="auto">Could anyone kindly advise pls.</p>
<p dir="auto">Here is the current setup.</p>
<p dir="auto">Pfsense 2.2</p>
<p dir="auto">agent and proxy are 2.0</p>

<p dir="auto">Here is my setup</p>
<p dir="auto">zabbix server                pfsense main firewall                        pfsense another site<br />
192.168.0.31                    192.168.0.251 (Local)                        192.168.20.250(local)<br />
                                192.168.23.251 ( different vlans)            this is linked to 192.168.23.0/24 vlan</p>
<p dir="auto">There are multiple vlans on the main firewall some connection to other remote pfsense firewalls.</p>
<p dir="auto">So my question is on the remote pfsense, I install the zabbix client.<br />
In the client  setting, I will put the following :</p>
<p dir="auto">server:192.168.20.251<br />
server Active:192.168.20.251:10050<br />
Hostname:(name of firewall)<br />
Listen IP:0.0.0.0<br />
listen port:10050<br />
refresh active checks:120<br />
timeout:3<br />
buffer send:5<br />
buffer size:100<br />
start agents:3</p>
<p dir="auto">On the main pfsense install the settings for the proxy is :</p>

<p dir="auto">On the Zabbix server I created a proxy called (Proxyname) and then added the remote pfsense as a client but I do not get any results.</p>

The simplest way to check to see if the device is running is by pinging it and I've attached a screenshot of the item. I've added this to the FreeBSD template and linked this template to my pfSense host configuration, since pfsense runs on FreeBSD. If you don't add it to the template, you will have to add it to each individual host.</p>
<p dir="auto">I am working on a more specific pfSense template now that a 2.0 agent is available but it's far from done. I am open to suggestions on what to add to it.</p>

The simplest thing I can think of is using setting up an item to uses simple checks icmpping to see if each tunnel endpoint host is responding to pings.</p>
