Metro Ehernet setup
-
Has anyone setup PFSENSE with a Metro Ethernet with VLAN. I have tried different settings and can't get it working. The ISP send me the following information (I changed the Ip's a bit).
VLAN: 810
WAN
Interface: 200.105.153.161
WAN Interface client: 200.105.153.162
Mask: 255.255.255.252LAN
Network: 200.105.154.88
Mask: 255.255.255.248
Default Gateway: 200.105.154.89I have not been able to find a post in the forum with this information.
Can someone help me with a step-by-step on how to get this working….
Thanks.

Configure vlan id 180 on interface you want to plug metro cable(interface -> assign -> vlan).
It looks like lan network does not need vlan tag, as it will stay behind your firewall. -
Thanks for the reply….
So far I have configured the following:
Wan - static - 200.105.153.162 with gateway 200.105.153.161
Vlan with TAG ID 810 and selected the WAN interface for the Parent Interface
Created Virtual Ip's for the network (LAN - even though this would become my public Ip's) 200.105.154.89 - 200.105.154.94At some point can I maintain my LAN with 192.168.0.1/23?
Still nothing.

After creating a vlan tag for your wan, you need to change wan interface applied.
for example:
from
wan em0to
wan em0_VLAN180 -
Yup, that did the trick. Everything is working now.
Thank you for the help marcelloc, it was the wan-vlan option.
