No access to system anymore..
-
Hi,
I'm using pfs 2.0.2 i86 and used this post http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,47856.msg252005.html#msg252005 to configure squid, squidguard and dansguardian.
All went well until the point where I enabled transparent proxy and the firewall rule.
Now I cannot access the box anymore.
Is there a way to get around this problem?TIA

Can you SSH into the box?

Hi Tim, since it's late night here and I really need to get this working I reverted to factory defaults - system is not put in production yet (new install)
Thanks a lot for stepping in! -
Pay close attention to where you're putting that firewall rule. My first guess would have been that you're putting the rule above the default LAN lockout prevention rule, and that could be what's causing you to get blocked from the web UI.

Thank you for informing.
Really don't know what went wrong.
Because it's new to me and no experience with this kind of software on linux/bsd, it's not clear how these 3 packages interact with each other.
On top of that, I had strange behavior of certain, normal, sites being blocked and others allowed so I tried a lot and the result was not 1:1.Now, I think I got the basics but need to work out some issue.
